At Mammoth Instant Studio in Toronto, we specialize in creating unique instant monochrome portraits using the historical Diffusion Transfer process originally patented by Polaroid. Our studio, housed in a historic knitting factory, offers an immersive 60-second development experience. You will be guided to feel relaxed and leave with a one-of-a-kind hand-crafted fine art piece.

Each session is 1-on-1 with the artist. Walk away with an original alternative diffusion transfer reversal hand-crafted print. The offered format sizes are 20x24" and 8x10".

Packages include 1 hour of chemical preparation, post-shoot cleaning, and studio use. Styling services available. Prices subject to HST. A 20% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. This deposit is refundable only if cancellation is made at least 36 hours in advance.

We will have fun making a great image! Compositional framing is limited to 3/4-body to full body. Prints develop in 60 seconds!
Please note:
Kevin received his first Singe Lens Reflex film camera, a 35mm Canon AE-1 Program, in grade 6 and has been capturing portraits ever since. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. Photography emphasizes intimacy, connecting with subjects in one-on-one sessions.
Kevin's early passion for street and candid photography evolved into a love for fine art portraiture. Outside photography, he is an avid cyclist, having ridden Toronto to Montreal at 17, and has performed fire-eating routines. Favorite music genre: Ska.
Artist Statement: The diffusion transfer reversal process captures ephemeral moments with historical significance. Each print is unique, offering tactile, museum-quality images that combine artistry, process, and instant gratification.
